Grownup T1Ds is a nonprofit organization eagerly willing to improve the lives of older adults with Type 1 Diabetes. You’re in the perfect spot for some serious support, fun, advocacy, education, and, of course, everlasting friendships- regardless of how experienced you are with this Diabetes thing or how recently you have joined the club. We’re all about keeping things warm and welcoming, and we have a toolbox full of resources to help you on your Diabetes journey. We also hold fun, in-person meet-ups (versus virtual meetings) and social events where we are with others who truly understand us. Beyond Type 1 is a nonprofit organization changing what it means to live with diabetes. Through platforms, programs, resources, and grants, Beyond Type 1 is uniting the global diabetes community and providing solutions to improve lives today. Founded in 2015 with a focus on education, advocacy, and a pathway to cure Type 1 diabetes while aiming to change what it means to live with chronic illness. The CWD Answers Team believes in an empowerment model of diabetes care and education, while stressing the importance of self-care and health promotion. DiabetesSisters is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the health and quality of life of women with diabetes, and to advocate on their behalf. On April 18, BDI will host a live, one-day, CME workshop: Engaging the Disengaged: Innovative Strategies for Promoting Behavior Change in Diabetes. Run by Dr. Polonsky (BDI President) and Dr. Guzman (BDI Clinic Director), Participants will deepen their skills in recognizing and addressing common barriers to effective self-care and cardiometabolic medication initiation and maintenance, while fostering respectful, stigma-free clinical encounters.
